Andersons Restaurant, Boat of Garten
“We ate at Andersons last night (25/7/08), it was wonderful: good ambience, attentive and friendly service, lovely food and great wine. What more could one ask for? I've eaten there before and it very good then too. It is great to see a consistently well run business. Andersons demonstrates that it can be done and is a standard all businesses should strive to achieve.”

Beallich, by Cromdale
“Beallich is a company here in the highlands providing outdoor activities and yoga. An interesting combination which, I can assure you from experience, works very well! It is run by two delightful people, Patrick and Abby Harrison, from their home, Wester Rynabeallich which is in the Haughs of Cromdale, a beautiful location within easy reach of the Cairngorm mountains. They provide all sorts of outdoor activities ranging from hill walking to rock climbing and I recently attended a Bushcraft course there, which was really superb. Patrick and Abby really do go 'the extra mile' when it comes to customer service and hospitality and nothing is too much trouble. Abby is also a qualified yoga teacher (and massage therapist) and I have had several wonderful yoga lesson from her in a beautiful studio overlooking the hills. I couldn't imagine a more perfect place for peaceful contemplation or a better setting in which to do yoga! If you want a day on the hill followed by a gentle stretch or a massage this is definitely the place to go.”

Cluny Bank Hotel, Forres
“Home from home with top quality cooking and chat thrown in. Lloyd and Julia run a great small hotel, now recognised - rightly - as the Grampian restaurant of the year. Julia is the quieter side of the partnership, efficient and friendly. Lloyd's natural ebullience is certainly matched by the wonders he rustles up in the kitchen. He manages to call male guests "Buddy" and "Sir", in a thick Lancastrian accent, in most sentences! Nothing is too much trouble without being over-fussy. I have stayed twice and can't wait for the next opportunity.”

(Yes, we know, technically speaking Forres isn’t in Speyside really but it’s close enough!)
Tyree House Hotel, Grantown-on-Spey
“I stayed at the Tyree House Hotel over the weekend of 20 - 23 June 2008. The hotel was very clean and tidy and the staff were very welcoming. The menu was very impressive, with a large choice of dishes. The ones I sampled were delicious, and if I had stayed longer I know I would have enjoyed many more. Everything about the hotel and its friendly atmosphere, contributed to making my weekend break a very pleasant experience.”

Cairn Eilrig b & b, Aviemore
This is the nicest B&B ever. Mary the host is lovely. It is a small B&B with only 2 rooms but the hospitality is wonderful, a really homely atmosphere with tea and coffee and biscuits on the go all day, a full Scottish breakfast including porridge, cereal and cooked Scottish breakfast. The view over the Cairngorms is wonderful (especially if the weather is clear) and sited just above the reindeer centre and near the woods. Its a lovely family B&B and the host is so welcoming and accommodating.
Everyone should visit. I will be going again and recommend it highly.
