So you’ll know about bog myrtle then? That wiry plant that grows in wet places in the Highlands? Crush the leaves and you’ll find it has an attractive scent. It is sometimes described as the Scottish tea-tree oil. I once flavoured pork chops with it, while camping. It is said that it also wards off midges.

Bogmyrtle, the Scottish equivalent of tea-tree oil
Raspberries, thriving in the north, are also a Scottish product. Oats and oatmeal – what could be more Scottish? Seaweed, heather and whisky…well, where’s all this taking us? To our new Scottish skincare online shop if you’ve got a moment to spare.
This is where you’ll find the best of Scottish skincare and beauty products all in one place. The list above mentions only some of the ingredients. Stop, you chaps! There’s something for you as well. (Especially chapped chaps. And also chaps with chaps. We consider them a slightly different, but nevertheless important, market.) For instance, we’ve got soap made with Islay malts. Trust me - wash your hands and your transported momentarily to a distillery. Then there are creams suitable for hillwalkers. We’ve even got something for hillwalkers’ heels. And stuff to keep midges at bay. Plus a huge choice of soaps. And shampoos – even for dogs.
We thought it was a good idea to indulge your loved one with a wee luxury. Or send your relations a scented souvenir of Scotland. Birthday, Mother’s Day, Christmas when it comes…..Pure and natural products and we’ve tried ‘em all. Except for the dog shampoo, to be honest. So don’t get in a lather looking for presents.
