The George Hotel, Walkerburn
“One of the most welcoming and dog-friendly hotels we've come across. Dawn Rodger, the owner, is not only a superb cook but she has a salmon beat on the Tweed nearby! What more could the visiting angler complete with four-legged ghillies ask for?

The Art House, Kelso
“I'd like to nominate Yvonne from the Art House, Kelso, for going way, way beyond the call of duty!
Having ordered a wall clock, as a Silver Wedding present, obviously for a set date. their suppliers sent the wrong colour clock, then didn't dispatch the correct order.
So Yvonne took their clock down from the wall, wrapped it beautifully for the silver wedding, and gave it to me!
How about that for customer care! Her enthusiasm, outgoing personality and helpful attitude, make her one of the Borders bright shining stars!”by Sue Beck on 26/05/2007
Horeshoe Inn, Eddleston
“This place isn't cheap, but we have a son who has food allergies - serious ones. They couldn't do enough. We explained the situation. They thought about it, left out ingredients, made a suggestion or two and definitely did all they could so that we could enjoy our evening out as a family without any worries. Full marks. ”by Kathleen and Gordon Stephen on 11/03/2007
