Isle of Barra Beach Hotel
“Our family has had the most fantastic holidays here: solitude, swimming with the dolphins (honest) flying kites and walking in the wilderness, enjoying the most fantastic beach on earth; our kids age 11 and 14 now want to go back there to the solitude and beauty of the beach and the island; we shall return!”add response

Isle of Barra Beach Hotel
“Wearing my other hat as a media trip planner I recently booked a room for a Dutch travel writer at the Isle of Barra Beach Hotel. The new owners, Teresa Jenkins & Guy Adams could not have been more helpful. They certainly went the extra mile for this journalist. They arranged a private guided walk of the island plus a visit to Barra Power Kiting and lastly they hosted a dinner featuring Barra's excellent scallops. This was all entirely unprompted. I have been doing this job for 18 years and I have rarely come across such PR-savvy hoteliers! They obviously love what they do and are keen to put Barra on the map!”by Johanna Campbell on 05/06/2008
“Many thanks for this, it is much appreciated; I would like to think that we (all the Isle of Barra Hotel team) always try to ensure our guests have as excellent a time with us as is possible possible supported by the helpful and very friendly people of Barra.”

Dolly's B&B and Digby Chick Restaurant, Stornoway, Isle of Lewis
“We spent 5 days at Dolly's. I'd adopt her as my second mom. Great breakfasts, wonderful room with amazing views, and she did too many errands for us to mention. The bus stops right in front. 1 mile from the airport
Digby Chick restaurant in town was as good as any restaurant we ate at in Paris-at 1/3 the price. Next time we plan to eat almost every dinner there. (Restaurant tel: 01851 700026)”by Bob Barnett on 05/09/2007
Hebridean Celtic Festival, Isle Of Lewis
“For five out of the past six years, my wife and I have returned to Stornoway, Isle Of Lewis, for The Hebridean Celtic Festival. The quality of the musical offerings, the courtesy and efficiency of the Festival staff and the overall friendliness and goodwill of the islanders have made this our choice for traditional music venues worldwide. Whether it is in the Festival Tent, at the exquisite An Lanntair Arts Center, or just over a friendly pint for a session at McNeill's Pub (our favorite) we have always felt that warm glow that tells you that you have come "home". We plan to travel back to Lewis from The Bronx, New York, for many years to come!”by Raymond Wrublewski on 05/09/2007

“We got married in the hotel and the owners and staff really did go the extra mile to make this a special day. The food and wine were amazing, and the rooms and service first rate. Our days there were perfect-thank-you! ”by Eilidh Ross on 04/09/2007

Cabarfeidh Hotel, Stornoway
“Great place to stay! Staff and management all very welcoming and helpful. Stayed overnight for business reasons to present a workshop the next day. Arrived late in the evening. Getting dinner that late was no problem at all, although we were the only ones in the restaurant. Next day everybody was very accommodating and helpful setting up the room for the workshop.
Thanks! Will def. return again!”by Rene Looper on 06/03/2007
Harris Hotel, Isle of Harris
“I had an excellent experience with the wonderful Harris hotel in
Tarbert, Harris, last year when I was guiding a walking holiday based
at the hotel. One of my clients (Dutch) became very ill (she was
diabetic and had ‘flu) one evening. The hotel helped me call a local GP
(early hours of the morning) and after a late night consultation
proceeded to nurse the hotel-bound walker over the next few days whilst
I continued to monitor her health and keep the other clients happy and
walking! Endless free cups of tlc, tea and shortbread helped her speedy
recovery and stopped an already serious situation from becoming a trip
to hospital and a flight home (or worse). Superb customer service and worthy of my host of the year.
